Discover one of Costa Rica’s most famous wildlife destinations on The Croc Skywalk Tárcoles River Safari. Cruise along the Tárcoles River aboard a comfortable, equipped boat while a bilingual naturalist guide helps you discover the incredible wildlife and ecosystems of this unique region.
The Tárcoles River is famous for its impressive crocodiles, but there is much more to see along the way. Navigate through transition forest and mangrove ecosystems while looking for tropical birds, iguanas and, with a little luck, monkeys among the surrounding vegetation.
After your river safari, continue the experience at The Croc Skywalk visitor facilities, where you can visit the souvenir shop, discover the chocolate factory and tastings, and enjoy The Bite Zone viewpoint.

Tour Times
Tours operate daily at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. Advance reservations are recommended and availability is subject to confirmation.
Transportation Options
Choose the tour-only option and meet directly in Tárcoles, or make your experience easier by adding round-trip transportation. Transportation packages are available from San José and from the Jacó area, including Playa Hermosa, Jacó, Herradura and Tárcoles. Transportation options require a minimum of 2 passengers, and transportation rates are the same for all ages.
Wildlife
The Tárcoles River is especially known for its large crocodiles. Depending on natural conditions and wildlife activity, you may also encounter herons and other tropical birds, iguanas and potentially monkeys. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
Children
Children ages 3–10 receive the child rate for the tour-only option. Children under 3 participate free of charge. Transportation packages are priced per person at the same rate for all ages.

This experience takes place in a natural environment and is subject to weather, tide and river conditions. The tour operator may modify, reschedule or cancel a tour when conditions could present a safety risk. When the operator cancels a tour for these reasons, rescheduling, credit or a refund will be offered as appropriate.
