Our Family’s Story - Moving to Costa Rica as an American
In 2006, my dad gathered us for a family meeting and pitched a wild idea:
"Let’s move to Costa Rica. Start fresh. Live differently."
The U.S. was heading toward a recession. After years in the real estate world in Arizona, my dad was ready for something new. He wasn’t usually the type to ask for signs, but one day he prayed—and soon after, he had a vivid vision of the Virgin Mary. That moment was enough. Within a few months, our family was on a plane, exploring a new life in Costa Rica.

Building a Life and a Business - After Relocating to Costa Rica
Our relocation to Costa Rica didn’t just lead to a new home—it led to a new dream. My dad ended up building Hotel Villas Jacquelina in Quepos, a town just outside Manuel Antonio National Park.
We looked at several places before settling in Quepos: Tamarindo, Nosara, Santa Teresa—even parts of Panama. But Quepos stood out for its:

My Personal Building Experience in Costa Rica
Years after our initial family relocation to Costa Rica, it was my turn to build.We already owned a lot next to our hotel in Quepos, and I finally felt ready to create a home of my own. After years of living on-site at the hotel, I wanted privacy—and a space to call mine.
