If you’ve ever wondered what it really looks like to take a Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica, imagine waking up to warm jungle air, practicing yoga to the sound of birds, learning ancient philosophy under the palms, then cooling off in the ocean between classes.

At Pura Vida Traveling, we host immersive Yoga Teacher Trainings (YTTs) that go far beyond mastering asanas — they’re about reconnecting to nature, slowing down, and transforming your inner world.

Here’s a glimpse into a typical day during your YTT experience in Costa Rica.

6:00 AM — Sunrise Silence & Meditation

The day begins just before the sun rises. You walk quietly to the outdoor shala as the jungle wakes up.

The morning starts with:

  • Guided meditation

  • Pranayama (breathwork)

  • Gentle warm-up movements

This sacred hour sets the tone for the day — peaceful, grounded, and intentional. With every breath, you feel yourself becoming more centered.

7:00–8:30 AM — Daily Asana Practice

Your first yoga practice of the day focuses on:

  • Alignment

  • Breath-movement connection

  • Strength and mobility

  • Mindful awareness

From beginners to advanced practitioners, everyone progresses at their own pace. You don’t have to be "perfect" — just open, curious, and committed.

8:30–9:30 AM — Nourishing Breakfast

Fresh tropical fruit, Costa Rican coffee, local eggs, homemade granola… the meals here fuel both body and soul.

It’s also a favorite moment to chat with new friends, laugh, bond, and share discoveries of the day.

10:00 AM–12:00 PM — Yoga Philosophy & Anatomy

Here is where the learning deepens. You explore:

  • Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras

  • The history and roots of yoga

  • The eight limbs of yoga

  • Applied anatomy for safe practice and teaching

It’s a blend of science and spirituality — grounded yet expansive.

12:00–2:00 PM — Free Time, Nourishment & Nature

You choose how to spend this break:

  • Swim in the ocean

  • Swing in a hammock

  • Journal

  • Take a nature walk

  • Grab a smoothie

Costa Rica invites you to slow down and enjoy simple moments.

2:00–4:00 PM — Practice Teaching & Workshop Sessions

You begin to integrate what you’ve learned.

  • Teaching small sequences

  • Building confidence

  • Giving and receiving feedback

  • Adjustments & assist workshops

By the end of the training, you won’t just know yoga — you’ll learn how to teach it safely and authentically.

4:30–6:00 PM — Sunset Yin, Restorative or Nidra

As the day cools, gentle evening practices help release tension and integrate learning.

You feel grounded, peaceful, and more connected than you’ve felt in years.

6:30 PM — Community Dinner

Conversation flows easily — dreams, fears, breakthroughs, and lots of laughter.

It’s more than a training. It’s a family.

8:00 PM — Reflection, Journaling & Rest

Costa Rica nights are quiet and warm. You journal, read, chat, or lie beneath the stars.

You sleep deeply, grateful and excited for tomorrow.
