The large vehicle ferry crosses between Puntarenas and Paquera in approximately 1.5 hours. The same van boards the ferry and continues after the crossing. Your luggage stays in the locked van while you use the passenger areas; keep essentials with you. The crossing is only one part of the transfer, not its full duration.
Drivers operate on a schedule and may only be able to wait a limited amount of time for late passengers. If you are running late, please notify your provider as early as possible. Missing your shuttle may require purchasing a new ticket or rescheduling, depending on availability.
