Good to Know

• Travel from San José Area & Juan Santamaría International Airport to the Jacó-area boarding point by shuttle, cross to Tambor by high-speed taxi boat, then continue by shuttle to Santa Teresa & Mal País where needed. For Tambor, an onward shuttle is only needed for the agreed drop-off location.
• You change from the shuttle to the high-speed taxi boat and, where needed, to a connecting shuttle. Your luggage travels with you on the boat, not locked in the original van. Protect valuables and electronics from water.
• The journey combines ground transfers with a covered speedboat crossing, avoiding the long drive around the Nicoya Peninsula. Vehicle changes are required between the land and boat legs; additional shuttle changes may be needed for operational reasons.
• Passengers may need to walk along the beach and board directly from shore. Your feet may get wet: wear suitable shoes or sandals.
• Luggage travels in designated boat storage compartments. Use waterproof protection for valuables and electronics.
• This is a shared service. Pickup order and journey time vary with traffic, weather, sea conditions, beach operations and other pickups. The 4-hour duration is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival time.
• Allow a generous buffer for flights and onward connections. If arriving at SJO the same day, allow time for immigration, baggage claim and airport pickup procedures.
• Pickup is from designated hotels and hostels. Vacation homes and Airbnbs are considered on request with a valid Google Maps location. Locations outside the standard zones, including difficult-access properties requiring a 4x4, may incur an additional charge quoted for your approval before that pickup or drop-off is confirmed.
• Each passenger may bring 1 suitcase and 1 small personal bag or backpack that fits on their lap or at their feet.
• Coastal scenery and occasional marine wildlife sightings are possible, depending on the season, weather and sea conditions; sightings are not guaranteed.

Additional Costs

• 7:00 AM: $100.80 base + 13% tax = $113.90 total per passenger.
• Extra suitcase: $22.60 total per piece ($20 + 13% tax), beyond the included suitcase and personal item.
• Surfboard under 7 ft: $22.60 total per board ($20 + 13% tax), subject to approval. Include the board length in special requirements when booking.
• Pickup or drop-off outside the designated areas is on request, subject to availability and an additional charge quoted for your approval before that location is confirmed.
• Extra luggage: $20 + 13% tax ($22.60 total) per additional piece.
• Surfboard (maximum 7 ft, subject to approval): $20 + 13% tax ($22.60 total). Include the board length in special requirements when booking.
